May News from Your Chamber

Mission: The Windsor Heights Chamber of Commerce is here to support our members, local businesses and organizations through advocacy, publicity, education and economic development.

Chamber Membership for You!

Did you know that the Windsor Heights Chamber of Commerce is open to citizens of Windsor Heights?  That’s right we have, for years, offered a rate for residents of Windsor Heights that is not only affordable but also can put you in touch with thought leaders on economic development, new business ideas and opportunities as well as receiving a host of benefits through your local chamber as well as the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Let’s talk?  Call Michael P. Libbie at 515-331-3207 for more information.

University Avenue Redesign

Your Chamber would like to publically thank Councilwoman Threase Harms, Councilmen Joseph Jones and Zach Bales-Henry for their affirmative vote on the Three Lane University Avenue Redesign rather than any “test”. We have been involved since the beginning and we firmly believe that this effort will allow Windsor Height to remain a viable community as we reclaim our right to a Main Street.  Thank you for your vision of the future! Our goal now is to continue to move forward with this very important project. As always, we would love to hear from you.

This month members of the Windsor Heights Chamber along with leadership from the City of Windsor Heights will travel to Washington D.C. for the annual Greater Des Moines Partnership economic development trip. This year president Jonathan Koester, vice president Louisa Dykstra and executive director Michael Libbie will be with over 200 others from the Metro as we take your message to D.C. Our goal is to take your concerns to Congress and we’re grateful for the time many of you have given us for that discussion.

Nights in the Heights

It’s coming this year to Colby Park starting June 26th and each Tuesday through July. Formerly known as “Music in the Park”, your Chamber has coordinated with the Windsor Heights Foundation to offer some great music, food, fun and lots of surprises! We know Angie Piziali will be proud!

May Lunch & Learn

Mark it down…May 31 at Saison Kitchen & Pub. Always interesting and informative and a chance for you to mingle and get to know your fellow Chamber Members. We’ll meet at 11:45am do some networking and then into our program. No reservations and lunch is on your own.

Let’s Golf!

The Annual Windsor Heights Golf Outing is scheduled for June 28th at Waveland Golf Course. Sure, you can come. Watch our website for sign up opportunities and, yes, we’ll be asking again!

ACCE in Des Moines

Another major event coming to the Greater Des Moines Metro is the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives annual meeting. Chamber leaders from across the United States will be in the Metro during the middle of July to learn and to experience what our communities have been building. We hope to have some national leadership visit us here in Windsor Heights so we might explain and show what can happen with the University Avenue Redesign Project.
